The Practice of
Free Yourself from Your Past and Create More Happiness, Well-being and Success
2018 Class is full, 2019 Class to begin in November 2019.
I want to personally and enthusiastically invite you to join me in a 6-month journey of self-discovery, in which we will get to know ourselves with more clarity, and learn to make more definitive distinctions between what is past and what is present. We will exercise our self-awareness and self-observation, and build skills to delve into the emotions, thoughts and beliefs that keep us from being our best selves. Group members will engage in practices that will give us more choice in how we respond to the day-to-day events of our lives. We won’t travel this road alone—we will engage in this journey of self-discovery and transformation as a community of fellow travelers, building bonds of trust and mutual support for our individual and collective processes.
The course will incorporate a Self-Mastery audio series produced by Gary Van Warmerdam, a long-time student of Don Miguel Ruiz, who wrote The Four Agreements. Every two weeks, participants will receive a new audio session that introduces a topic and provides exercises to practice until the following meeting. At each meeting, we will share our experience of the homework, do live exercises, work through tough spots together, have group discussion, and preview the upcoming audio sessions. The meetings will be interactive and dynamic, with the focus on the participants’ experiences, rather than a lot of lecturing. This training will be suitable for people of any spiritual tradition or background, as it does not rely on any particular belief system, and makes room for all perspectives.
In working with each unique client, I draw more than 20 years of experience working with my own growth and healing process. I also draw on years of experience and training in several traditions of spiritual practice and cutting-edge psychotherapy models. My goal is to help you move through your stuck places and become your best self. The traditions and models I work in include powerful on-going reflections and practices that generate significant change when practiced regularly. These source traditions and models include the Toltec tradition (see The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz), the Buddhist tradition (see Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach), Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy (see Body-Centered Psychotherapy by Ron Kurtz), Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques (see www.eftuniverse.com) and the Integral Coaching framework (see www.newventureswest.com).
